Front-point bite: what T-section actually does
A horizontal front point is a flat blade lying on its side. It displaces a lot of ice per kick, which makes it stable and supportive in snow and névé, and slow going in hard, cold water ice — you kick more, you fracture more dinner plates, and your calves keep score.
A T-section point adds a vertical rib along that blade. The leading edge is narrower, so it penetrates with less force, while the rib gives the point stiffness and resistance to twisting once it is in. In practice the Sarken enters brittle ice with fewer kicks and holds a placement with less wobble when you weight it off-axis. It is close to vertical-point penetration without the vertical point's tendency to shear out sideways when you flat-foot on the way to the ice.

Walking comfort and the everyday 90%
Most of any mountaineering day is walking, and this is where the Vasak's simpler front end pays back. Its points are less aggressive and sit slightly lower, so flat-footing across a 35° traverse feels natural and the front points are less likely to catch a gaiter, a crampon strap or the rope when you are tired and getting sloppy. Snagging trips more people than a lack of grip ever does.
The Sarken walks better than most crampons in its class — that is the point of T-section over vertical — but it is not as unobtrusive as the Vasak. The front end is stiffer and more forward, and on long, flat glacier miles you notice both that and the extra ~80 g.
